    Default Porsche mechanic???

Does anyone know a retired Porsche mechanic?
Or someone knowledgable that likes to tinker.

I think this year engine was actually built by VW.

my son did some trading and ended up with this.
Body is in good shape, just needs a little engine (TLC)

It does start right up...runs strong.

This car is an 89 944 (not turbo)

Try Bob Hill at Import Specialists on 96th and Michigan Road. He's an all-around import guy. Also, Merkle Autohaus on the new westside near speedway is owned by two German brothers and they specialize in German cars from this era and before. Euro Motorworks in Castleton is very good, but dealer pricey. And lately I have been taking my VW, Audi, and BMW to a place called EP Werks at 65th Street and Binford (SR 37) in Indy. They are a newer shop, but full of young, bright guys who really love German cars. Their specialty is tuning them for road racing, but they do oil changes and regular mechanic work as well.

I once had a 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo that was chipped with a racing suspension. That car was F...A...S...T!!! and handled as well or better than any car I've ever driven. The non-Turbo version runs a 2.5 litre in-line 4. I don't believe the 944 was developed much with VW, but the earlier 924 which is somewhat similar looking was. The 944 is all Porsche. If your son can fix it up here and there where it needs it, he'll have a fun driving car. If I recall the weight distribution between front and rear is 49/51% making it a very well balanced and great handling car. Have fun!!

I spoke with Mr Reagan. When you said he is good with "all" imports, maybe all except Porsche, or maybe he already has enough business and is swamped.
He told me "I have no interest in working on that vehicle".
Guess I will keep looking, surely there is a mechanic out there willing to at least take a look at it. I would like to keep it in Lebanon.
