Indiana Fishing Reports

West Boggs Beach Closed: Loogootee Man Dies of Brain eating parasite

In general: Fishing has been a mixed bag. Fish went crazy just before that last front moved through, and remained active until the currents slowed down. Now it's a tough bite. It has been just hit and miss at most lakes. Several lakes are still low, and this has been affecting fishing all summer. Cat fishing and carp fishing activity remains steady on most lakes. Indiana river fishing has picked up with smallmouth and flathead fishing. Lake and river fishing has a steady bite for channel cats. A few flathead also being taken. No blues that I know of.

Indiana DNR did post: Lake Michigan Tributaries: Over the next week or two, we should start to see kings entering the tribs. I will keep you updated on the progress of the run. I think the weather affected that report, but it is almost time.

Norway and

Oakdale Dam Reports:

Indiana Farm Ponds and Pits
fishing report

Fishing has gotten crazy just before, and during the rain. Once the currents slowed down, so did the bite. The bite has been steadlly picking back up, and a fair bite for bluegill and redear with bee moth and nightcrawlers. Crappie are 5 to 15 feet deep and around structure. Bass fishing has picked up at twilight, and early morning hours, except for catfishing, which has improved in most lakes and ponds.

Indiana Pay Lake Reports

*Don't forget about the Saturday night tournaments.

Some small bass being taken at night on top water baits and plastic's. Best bite is in the early morning hours. Daytime fishing here is just about a waste of time.

Montgomery County Sugar

Went fishing in Sugar Creek this evening. Caught several little smallies and this one pig! It has been dubbed"JAWS" as it attacked a small fish with my lure in its lips and took my lure from it, in turn getting itself hooked. Very AWESOME to see happen!!!

Boones Pond Fishing Report
Were else in Boone County do you fish at ??

Lake Michigan Tributaries

A few steelhead and a few kings, especially in Trail and Deep River.*

Rain helped levels slightly. Ed Mullady reported catfish good in both states, smallmouth
improved and pike good early in the morning or 4 p.m. to dusk. Norm Minas found that less aggressive techniques, such as a 1/0 Weighted Keeper Hook with an Erie Darter, worked best with the yoyoing water levels.
